Is LL Cool J Justified to Feel Used by FOXNews and Governor Palin?

April 1, 2010

So FOXNews planned to recycle an interview with LL Cool J and misrepresent it for Governor Palin’s debut tonight of her show “Real American Stories”.

And when he took offense, they released a condescending statement including a reference to his “fledgling acting career.”

Here’s the statement:

“(A)s it appears that Mr. Smith does not want to be associated with a program that could serve as an inspiration to others, we are cutting his interview from the special and wish him the best with his fledgling acting career.”

I don’t know if this guy can act, but he has been doing it for years. He sure has the looks to be a Hollywood superstar.

Recycled LL? That’s not cool

Sarah Palin’s new Fox News show will premiere tonight without a planned segment featuring LL Cool J.

The debut episode of “Real American Stories,” a series profiling inspirational Americans, was originally set to include a clip of the rapper/actor.

But he complained that the network was reusing a 2-year-old interview he did for a previously planned series of the same name.

“Fox lifted an old interview I gave in 2008 to someone else and are misrepresenting to the public in order to promote Sarah Palin’s show,” LL Cool J, starring in CBS’ “NCIS: Los Angeles,” posted on Twitter. “WOW.”

The network replied in a statement Wednesday: “(A)s it appears that Mr. Smith does not want to be associated with a program that could serve as an inspiration to others, we are cutting his interview from the special and wish him the best with his fledgling acting career.”
